Then is now again, it was due yesterday everywhere. Overriding each other, the amnesia and awareness compete for a time slot in a maybe trailer or a music video. Narrative is lost and found, as the video tracks human eye’s life in captivity of cameras and technology wrapped in a feeling of a “have traveled”.

I slide and glide fearfully and file preciously. Surveillance and the all-knowing scroll, the twins separated at birth, have reunited in my living room. Against the wall of peeling paint of minutes, they sit on the dented daybed, holding hands, gazing at each other in static. The eye’s umbilical cord fizzles excitedly with awareness of pure retinal kind, but time is over one day old.

Up above, there is a new hope. The divine extraterrestrial met the twins at a dance party. Together they to collaborate on the painting of our future. But first, let’s forget what we didn’t know. Close your eyes, make it black and white, zoom out or fade to black. I am positively negative that I have seen this before. Dated images of dates wash over me, in gusts - it’s windy out here, anywhere.

Anastasia is an interdisciplinary artist, working with lens-based media, in format of films, artist books, digital print and new media installations.
